Default E-mail Display Name

Currently when I go to messages, my received e-mails display "last name" first. How do I display "first name" first?

Go to your address book and then hit the menu button - options - the top option is to change the way the name is displayed on your pearl set it to "first name"
should be cool after that!

That only changes the way your address book is sorted. That will not change the display name on emails.

The display name on emails has to do with the settings that the sender has. I sent an email to my 8100 from my outlook account at work and it came up as lastname first. I then emailed from my yahoo account and it showed up firstname first.

mckinneycm you are right, that only changes the address book. But on the second part of your reply, I don't think that is true. On my 7100 the first name was first. I actually think I changed this option when I was initially setting up my phone a few days ago. I just can't find the menu that I changed this.

I see what you are saying with the "senders options," but that would be a strange coincidence that all my received messages have the setting to display last name first.

I think you're actually both right. taiko, go to settings/language/name display, and you'll get what you're looking for.

But of course, as mckinneycm suggests, if the sender is set up so that his/her first name is where most readers assume the last name is listed, the name will be displayed last name, first name after you make the switch.
