Default 8100 on Cingular with GPS?

Please Login to Remove!

has anyone tried the 8100 on Cingular and tried to see if the GPS actually works there? I know it's fully enabled on TMO, I was wondering if you can achieve the same functionality on cingular..

What do you mean with "fully enabled GPS on T-Mobile"?

The 8100 Pearl does not have a built-in GPS receiver like the 7100i, 7520 and 8703e at Sprint/Nextel. So what is enabled there?

I have the 8100 (unlocked) on Cingular with Telenav and you have to have an external GPS. It does not have built-in gps.

Works great though.

Telenav is a great service that offers turn by turn voice directions. On a Blackberry, thats huge. It does require a GPS Bluetooth Reciever, but you can pick that up at your local Cingular Store. Just wait till you see some of the other things comming out. WOW WOW WOW.

Yes you will need a BT puck for the 8100.

The 8800 is supposed to have the GPS receiver built in. This should work with Waypoint, Telenav and BB Maps. I think that will be the best situation since it won't require the puck, unless one of the carriers like VZ partially diables it.

as long as the 8800 gets out on cingular, I will be a happy camper.....Am I correct in what I am inferring that BBMAPS will work with GPS and thus offer full navigation? FOR FREE?
