I'm trying to transfer some jpgs and mp3s over to the pearl over USB by way of BB Desktop Manager (v4.2) using the media manager. (using WinXP SP2 etc.)

Outlook contacts, tasks etc. synced up just fine...

the files show up on the BB but they are corrupt and will not be read properly. The images will not display (jpgs and pngs both tried) and mp3s skip as if the data was corrupt.

the phone is from rogers.
firmware: v 4.2.0.51 (platform 2.2.0.32)

I havent flashed it or anything -- brand new out of the box.

Any help would be appreciated.

USE THE SEARCH FEATURE ON THIS FORUM!!!!!

You'll see that you have to convert the files for the 8100.

you know, if I HAD found anything that mentioned I'd have to convert files before using desktop manager to transfer, I wouldn't have bothered posting.

There is no post that I can find that says that mp3s or jpgs need to be "converted" before loading to the BB.
Why dont you show me?
