Default Installation of BES express

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everybody,

I recently installed a test bes express server running windows 2003 standard server that connects to my exchange 2003 with windows 2003 standard server. I installed it as a stand alone (workgroup) server.
My first question would be, does it require the server to be a domain controller with active directory on it? I did it without installing active directory and only joined it to the domain. Is that the correct way or one of the ways to do it?
My second question would be, for local security permissions, I made a local user account BESadmin that is part of the administrator and gave the permission to the account to log on as a service and log on locally on the BES express stand alone server, is that a secure and correct thing i did?
My third question is, I setup a BESAdmin account on the active directory portion of my exchange server and made it part of the domain admins or domain user, is that all that i would need to setup for the exchange server end? Do i need to give it the same permission to log on as a service and log on locally as i did for the BES server?
My final question is, I was able to successfully add a user in my test environment and send a message to the user as i checked on my exchange server and saw that the amount of messages received had gone up for that user, does that mean my BES server is working correctly? My test environment does not have internet service and I had redirected the SRP to localhost.

Thank you in advance!!

I suggest you post in BES admin conrnet, you'll get a better response there...
