T-Mobile, MMS & www.tmobilepictures.com
Please Login to Remove!
My wife and both have T-Mobile 8700. We love them. In the past (about 2 weeks ago), I was able to send her events that were relevant to her calendar or address book via MMS.
Now unfortunately, when I sent to her it comes up as a system generated message stating that she has a picture waiting for her at www.tmobilepictures.com.
In addition, I used to also be able to receive pictures directly from other friends camera phone on my message list. Now it automatically puts everything into tmobilepictures.com.
Anyone else experiencing this? How to I revert back to the way it was?
Thanks, any help would be great.

Hmm, everything time I receive a picture it comes in the form of the website. Which I can't stand. Sprint sends you a direct link, but with my TMobile pictures I have to check on the site. Getting it directly was never an option for me.
As for receiving them in your message list, I think the only way to get around the website is to send the pictures or get them sent to you via your email.

I've had the same problem.
I don't usualy receive mms messages but I got one the other day and the same thing happened. It made me cranky; I could not get the picture to open in the BB browser so now I guess I will have to check their website and try to see the picture.

I noticed this also, they could have just left us with SMS if they're going to cripple MMS like this.

TMO reps
no kidding about the TMO reps, I don't think most of them could operate a can opener let alone offer insight and detailed info on BB problems.

I noticed this a while back, and didn't know what was going on. I thought it was just the way T-Mo did it, since I am a recent convert from Sprint. If you can receive the picture in your MMS instead of the stupid link to the site that you can't actually visit with the standard browser, that would be way better. However, I did find that I could visit the site with Opera to see the picture.

Whoa...thanks for suggesting Opera. I just went off on a rant in the 8100 forum about this exact problem...didn't think to use Opera.
Still, I'm pissed of at T-Mobile for not allowing access to either t-mobile.com or t-mobilepictures.com from a Blackberry. Shoot, I'm pissed off at them for not letting them come in as regular MMS instead of using that damned website. This is making me really angry.

same prob here folks. well i HAD that problem. like stated above techs were clueless. I spent a bit of time on the phone and we finally figured out the problem. apparently there is a feature that somehow gets disabled with BBs. My tech discovered it by chance, and it solved the issue. my advice is call tmo, and get transferred to the BB department and just go through all their trouble shooting steps, and they will eventually find it. for my tech it was the last option she tried and that did the trick. good luck

This only started for me a few weeks back, although I still get a picture from time to time to the device.

It seams there is an issue with the size of the picture that your trying to recieve I get anything under 300k to my phone and anything over gos to the site. Also if the other person who sent is on another provider it gos straight to my-tmobile pictures.. I think they set it up like that in the past few weeks for a reason bummer

On a possibly related note, I previously used SMS/MMS as a means of paging to my device from our systems monitoring servers at work (Linux-based sending through sendmail). Over the last few months, these messages are received as MMS and sometimes are delivered and sometimes aren't until 12-18 hours later. The messages are leaving our network just fine and are received by mailex.tmomail.net (I think), but they sometimes aren't delivered in a timely fashion to our devices. Obviously if I miss some pages during the daytime hours due to this fiasco, and then they flood in (10-20) at 5:00 AM, it REALLY pisses me off. Emails to our corporate rep went unanswered (par for the course with him) and phone calls to Business Support were inconclusive (they stated that they are unable to track messages once they are sent to the device).
Anyhow, I think that T-Mobile likely has issues with their MMS/SMS gateway provider, whomever that is. This may be a 'bandaid' fix to try and help correct their problems.

In another thread I read about sending a MMS to '222' and that sets up yout t-mobilepictures.com account. after doing that, and sending a few MMS messages to myself, I was able to receive them from others as well.
YMMV
