Dude, at least give people some time to answer before bumping. There's no call for that.

There's no call to bump a thread unless it is gone off the first page, or once in a day.
You've bumped 3 times in 6 hours. Chill.

"BUMPING" is forum lingo for making your thread go back to the top of the list. I don't think he was, "BUMPING" intentionally though.

ok.....help me straighten my head out here......
the Blackberry 8100 supports the dial up networking profile right??? that means mine does not have it, or my axim just can't see it.
the 8100 is not supposed to randomly reboot right? im pretty sure its defective and has a loose contact since i already reinserted the battery several times
ive followed steps similar to the link posted but my axim cant find any usable features in it.

To answer the question, you cant connect a BlackBerry to a PDA so you can tether.

anybody?
i noticed something interesting with my blackberry earlier......yesterday before i posted this i downloaded the DUN profile from brainmurmers (didnt work) but since the thing required me to connect to their server address, it was too long to input on my pda so i deleted it.
i deleted my partnership on the blackberry so it went back to saying it has no usable services, but the DUN profile on my pda was still there so i clicked it and dialed the *99# number
it worked but only for a minute (but very fast connection) and then i was unable to connect. it could be possible but i dunno, im gonna get another pearl since this one has a damaged micro SD slot anyway

It works like a charm with my axim x51v and pearl. I'm not sure about x50v because of lack of bug patch from Dell. As far as x51v goes it works.
On your WM5,
1. go to settings->connections->connections
2. add a new modem connections
3. choose bluetooth and next
4. choose blackberry 8100 (in my case)
Note: your blackberry has to be paired with your pda.
5. put number *99# (I'm using T-Mobile)
6. Go to advanced
7. a.I chose baud rate of 115200
b. at Extra dial-string modem commands:
+cgdcont=1,,"wap.voicestream.com
8. Now you see your connection name. Tab and hold to connect.
That's it.
Good luck.

I wrote this up for work, expecting someone would call in asking for this eventually.
Please note this is for Tmobile Services, and also note that this test was done using a MDA without a sim card, so in effect it was operating as a standalone WM5 Pda
And for the record you cannot tether a blackberry to WM5 Smartphone, or Smartphone 2003. Only the Pocket PC WM5 OS will work, have not tested Pocket PC 2003, but it should work in theory Depending on the bluetooth stack.
Using the Blackberry Pearl as a modem for a Windows mobile device
Prepare the Pearl
Enable Bluetooth in Options>Bluetooth>Enable Bluetooth
Enable Discovery in Options>Bluetooth>Options>Discoverable: Yes
Create the Connection
On the windows mobile device: Start>Settings>Connections Tab>Connections Icon
Select the advanced tab
Click on Select Networks
Click on new
Enter a Name for these Settings, I.e. Pearl Modem
Click on the Modem Tab
Select New
Name the Connection Tmobile GPRS
Select Bluetooth for Modem, hit next
Select New partnerShip if the pearl is not already paired, walk through usual pairing, make sure dial up networking is checked
If Pearl is already paired select it and hit next
Enter the Dial Number of *99#, hit next
No username/Password/Domain is needed.
Click on the Advanced Button
Uncheck wait for dial tone before dialing
In Extra dial-string modem commands: Enter +cgdcont=1,,"wap.voicestream.com"
Uncheck Cancel if not connected in 120 sec.
Select TCP/IP Tab, make sure Use server-assigned IP address is checked
Select Servers Tab,make sure Use server-assigned IP address is checked
Tap OK in the upper right hand corner
Tap finish in the lower right hand corner
Tap OK in the upper right hand corner
Fine Tuning on the blackberry
Go to Bluetooth settings in Options>Bluetooth
Highlight the Pocket PC, select menu, then device properties
Set Trusted to YES
Set Encryption to Disabled
Press the menu key and select Save
Test the Results
On the Pocket PC open up internet explorer and load a web page
You are now Connected to the connection on the blackberry through bluetooth on the Pocket PC
Pat yourself on the back
This guide should cover all Windows Mobile 5 devices, it was prepared using the MDA as the device.

I have the X50V WM2003 and for the past 3 hours i've been trying to make it connect with my BB8100 but no luck. I was successful to use DUN on my laptop and i used the same set up for my X50V. I guess there must be a difference between WM2003 and WM2005. It is a bummer!!!!

Same as jaylasad here. In bluetooth discovery on the PPC device I get "The requested service is not running on this device. Please make sure the service is enabled on the device or select another one to continue. The services available on my phone are:
Headset
Handsfree
Desktop Connectivity
Wireless Bypass
Am I missing any?
