Talking The WAP Browser vs The BB HTML Browser

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, I've tried to be a good boy and read all about the fact that my new Cingular BB 8700c (that's being shipped to me now) will likely have *Two Browsers*...One for Cingular WAP browsing that is formatted for WML pages (scaled down web pages viewed on mobile devices), and one for regular Internet browsing of full HTML pages (like on a desktop computer).

Now, does this mean that if I go to a "mobile-formated" web page (like maybe Google Mobile) that I NEED to use the WAP (Cingular) browser for proper web page viewing? Or, can I just use the BB HTML browser to go to Google Mobile and still have the WML web page load correctly in a scaled down version)?

Conversely, what happens if I try to access a full HTML web page (like mayble CNN.com - Breaking News, U.S., World, Weather, Entertainment & Video News) ON THE WAP BROWSER?

Sorry if I'm completely off on this guys and gals...Just trying to get an understanding of how I need to be ready to use the browser(s) correctly. Which browser to you guys use most?

Thanks

We only have the BB internet browser as an option for our devices and I haven't noticed anything formatting anything differently. It appears that most sites are smart enough to render the mobile pages for you by default.

Some sites are different in each browser, but the majority of sites look the same. Either one will do the html pages. The wap browser seems to handle wap pages better though.

Got ya. The concensus seems to be to just use the WAP (Cingular) Browser for everything. That's definitely what I was hoping for.

Thanks guys.

Default hmmm

OK, let me expand on the original poster's question. I have three browsers on my Cingular 8700c: Cingular, Blackberry, and Internet. I'd like the option of choosing between WML and HTML on pages that 'automatically' serve me WML. Is there a way to specify whether you want to receive WML or HTML? When I hit a website that delivers HTML on my PC yet WML on my Blackberry, I get WML on all three browsers and can't figure out how to specify that I want HTML instead.

Thanks!
