I am of the oppinion that this is not possible however

We are a UK based company running a BES. The business has expanded to Australia and one of the managers out there has bought a blackberry and I have been tasked wwith getting it working with our BES in the UK.

Is this possible.

I have tried entering his email address and password in the enterprise activation on the phone but it keeps failing.

That certainly is possible. His BB needs a carrier of course and a data plan in Australia. As soon as he has that, enterprise activation will work as long as his email address is routed to YOUR BES.

All of the others are so I presume his will be. Do I do that when I create his account in the BES from the user accounts on the domain?

I'm assuming that he has a BES account on the BES (and that any other prereqs for getting his Exchange server configured to work with the BES in the UK have been taken care of)?

Also, you're entering the Enterprise Activation password and not his password, right?

Yes this should work - we have a BES in one country and support users from multiple locations / providers.

In addition to the other points, I'd also check that the Australian data plan supports BES and not just BIS.

This will work. Our BES is in the USA and we run four BB without any problem in Australia.

What can bring you undone is that the staff at the service providers in Australia are sometimes not that smart. You must be careful to explain to them that you do not want BIS; in fact you have a BES in another country so you want a BES data plan. Even so, one of our guys requested this and Telstra still put him on a BIS plan -- the handset subsequently had to be wiped and the software reloaded to get it to work.

You will also need to make sure you have sufficient licenses on your BES in the UK; but I guess that part is obvious.
