Default Anyway to turn off the light sensing technology?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,
I just got my pearl, and I love it. I am sure that this has been talked about before on this forum, but after some searching I came up empty. Anyway to turn off the option of having the light sensing technology with the screen. Nice feature, but sometimes it annoys me. Thanks

You'd have to downgrade your software on the device to 4.2.0.42. It's not worth it for the bugs that were in .42 version of the OS. There are many, many, many threads on this issue. If you want to read about it more, try a search for "auto-dim". I'm sure that'll bring up a lot of threads. Maybe someday that ability will come back but for now, it's said to be gone for good.

Hopefully Rim will release a update with this feature. Oh well.

If it bothers you as much as it did me. Check this thread out and see what a few of us have done.

Although this can hose your BB (and would certainly kill a warranty!). Plus you'd be hosed if Rim releases a firmware upgrade that makes the auto-dim optional again (which is entirely possible).
