They all ring whatever ringtone is set in the profile. Anyone out there with this scenario???

I have the same problem I went on the tmobile website to change a phone# in one of my faves, phone recieved a text message saying "my faves has been updated". ever since then the custom ringtones have not been in order. EX. my girlfriend calls and its the ringtone to one of my friends. he calls and it my girlfriends ring tone. i have tried everything to switch it went into each profile and edit everything with no luck. So im on the same boat as you!

I use the Cingular network so i dont know what the t-mo setup is. All i can say, go to advanced in the profiles menu and make sure all the boxes are checked under the "exceptions" part. Once again idk how the T-mo is setup but that might be the culprit.

Any time I do anything to the settings of any of the My Faves contacts, it resets them all to the default tjingle tone. I go in and make sure that there are no exceptions in the profiles, then go and change the tone from the My Faves contact. But it does get annoying when you make a change to a persons display name only to have it reset all the tones.

The other thing that you might want to try is to clear out all exceptions set the tone the way you want it in the My Faves menu, then pull the battery and see if that fixes your problem.

After spending countless hours on the phone with TMobile...we finally got the ringtones recognized:

1. Profile
2. Advanced
3. Delete ALL Exceptions
4. Select My Fave Contact
5. Edit Contact
6. Assign Ringtone (if it's already the one you want - assign it again)
7. Power off the phone (using power button - not battery)
8. Repeat Steps 4-7 one a time for each Contact
9. These steps are the same for anyone in your regular Address Book as well

My ringtones have gotten messed up several times (both MyFaves, and others). Usually they all revert to default. The settings are always correct, exceptions in Profiles, etc. And if I leave it along they almost always work again after a few days. If I pull the battery they work right away. I never had to do what fruitfly did above though.
