Just wanted to ask a quick question. I am new to the administration of the Bes. Are there 2 different licenses, one for the Bes and one for the users? What I mean to ask is that does there need to be a license for each user on the Bes, so if there are 500 users on a Bes will there be 500 licenses? Or does one license for the Bes cover everything. Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere and I know it may sound a stupid question to some of you. Appreciate any feedback. Also, if there is a license per user how can you find out how many licenses you have left? This is bes for lotus notes.

They come in Packs you can get a 500 back or a 100 back or 20 or 10 or 5 or 1.

There is a server license for the BES itself. Then you need a CAL for every user you add to the BES. So after buying the server software and you want to add 500 users you need to buy 500 CALs.

Cheers those are the answers I was looking for. What does CAL stand for though? Also, is the number next to the key in 'license management' the number of licenses. I see 50, 10, 20 etc so are the number of licenses and I just add them up to see how many licenses are available?

Client Access License (CAL).

The number next to the license key is the number for CAL for that key. Just add up the numbers and that's the total CAL you have.
