Question how do I _close_ apps instead of 'minimizing' them?

Please Login to Remove!

When I hit the alt-esc I see 4 apps running immediatly! BB Browser (which I cant even use), Messages, BB messenger (which Idont even want but havn't gotten around to uninstalling) and Home Menu (which, obviously, I cant close) then I start some other programs and 'close' them and they're still running!

Normally, I'd not be concerned, but this gadget has 16mb RAM, and I've alreadt, in <24 hours gotten an 'out of memory' error once, so...

Hitting the escape key or the disconnect key doesn't close apps. You have to pull up the menu in the app and hit close or exit. As far as I know, you can't close the browser and messages, etc. Also, some apps start automatically when you "boot" the device. You probably knew all of this though.

Right. You can close certain apps from the menu (like browser) but even that doesn't close them.

I uninstalled Google Talk from my phone quite a while back. When I bring up the open apps. screen it tells me that Google Talk is open. How can it be open when I deleted it? It's not even in my list of applications. ???

Those apps run by default, so you can't close them. 16mb is fine....no worries.
You might need to do an OS upgrade to stop the memory leak. What version OS do you have?

It is a quick switch between apps, those that ARE open and running. You will note that ALT-ESC does not scroll through each and every app on your BB.

Some apps on mine will not close completely, like phone, address book or browser. I assume the browser has to be "open" for some other service to work.
