Someone reported this within another thread yesterday, I believe.
If the battery seating space is just slightly oversized (outside proper tolerences by just a few 1/1000's) the unit's battery contacts could lose contact with the battery, simulating a battery-pull. This has happened with HTC and Audiovox units in the past, that I know of.
Try this: With the unit powered up, take the battery door off and leave the battery in it. Slowly manipulate the battery from side to side, top-to-bottom as well, while keeping a very close eye on the screen for signs of battery disconnect.
Also, if you have a rubber mallet, try a little 'light' impact in the area of the battery housing with the battery cover left on to simulate the jolt it receives upon just tossing it on a desk or the like.
