Default Worth updating the BB OS?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey. I just got my blackberry about a week ago. i noticed that my BB OS is v4.0.2.49 and Rogers (my carrier) has a v4.1.0.379 available for downloading.

My questions are:
a) Is it worth upgrading the OS?
b) where can I find release notes on the difference between the two versions
c) if I do upgrade, do I have to back up my files/apps (i.e. does upgrading the OS wipe the device)?

Thanks in advance,
Lawrence

a) I would recommend upgrading from 4.0.2 to 4.1.
b) Probably not. RIM provides the release notes to the carriers but only Cingular has ever made any public.
c) If you do the upgrade from Desktop Manager you have an option to automatically backup and restore the data on the device. FYI, this is the default behavior.

Ok... so I updated to v4.1.... My "Compose" icon is missing :(

Where'd it go??? Can I get it back???

(I've checked obvious solutions. The icon is not hidden from the home ribbon, it's missing.)
