Post Volume problems with 7290 and THB Bury Car Kit

Please Login to Remove!

Hi.

I recently had THB Universal Car kit installed with the 7290 cradle. The kit works fine but at high speeds on motorways etc, phone volume through my car's speakers is too low to be useful - this is with the handset's volume turned up full. THB say that this is an issue for RIM and that there is a known problem with the volume levels on 7290s and 7100s. However, although I have seen some references to ring tones and alerts being a bit on the quiet side, I haven't seen much relating to fitted car kits. As many car stereos will not permit volume control for handhelds, you're stuck with the volume control on the handheld. I should add that I had no problems with my previous Nokia Car Kit through the same stereo. Has anyone experienced this problem? Does anyone know of a fix (I'm checking to see if the speech mode of the stereo can ve over-ridden)?

Default I'd love to hear if you found out anything on this...

My 7290 is also a bit on the quiet side.
Would love to beef this up.

Afraid not. I have resorted to aJabra 250 headset to compensate for the poor volume when in the car. Mind you, it's the only aspect of the 7290 that i can honestly say I have been disappointed with

just read this, I have a thb bury kit fitted with a 7290, it works well (better than my old fixed nokia kit) and volume level is fine, Ive noticed it depends who is calling and from what but up on max its usually plenty loud enough.
the ringtone is too quiet but everyone knows about that one hopefully a firmware update will sort that.
