Try BeamBerry, or Repligo, google them or look in the Aftermarket Software forum below. I've used both, but I like BeamBerry better.

Just downloaded the BeamBerry program myself. Is this a free program to use? I couldn't make out from the TOS if this was just a trial version or not.

Anytime I read "you can now try ..." I'm always concerned that I'll be hit with a fee later on. I'm certainly not against paying programmers for their work. I'd just like to know if there are any strings attached.

There are no strings attached right now, it is in beta testing. If the developer chooses to charge for his program in the future, such is their right. When it comes to time to pay, then I will evaluate it's worth.

Default PDF Viewer for the 8800

I had tried all of them and have found that I have trouble actually reading any document that I wanted to read. I finally found a reference to Repligo and this one is the best I feel. You can use it to read email attachments as well as store documents on your online account from any computer and they will be available for reading from your handheld. this is both easier than storing the documents on your handheld's memory card and having to email yourself each document. it also has a feature where you can 'Read' PDF files which takes the standard image version of the file and makes it into cropped/formatted text so that it all fits onto your screen and you dont have to scroll left and right every second to read a line. Repligo so far is the best I've found. $25/3months or its cheaper per month if you buy a year subscription.

Default BeamBerry works of me...

I now need to view PDF files from my BlackBerry 8100. I thought the thing would view PDF files, but no... You can see the thumbnail of the PDF attachment but when you zoom with the zoom tool it's a big blur. It's a new work thing that I came up with yesterday, instead of jabbering all the info over the Nextel/Sprint direct connect while I'm driving just sent me an email with the details... It was a PDF file that I couldn't read so we had to jabber on the phone anyway. Last night I spent 2 hours on the phone with ATT Wireless tech support. I was passed from one tech nit-wit to the next, one dummy had no idea what a PDF file was. I knew there was some application that would probably solve the issue but nobody at ATT Wireless tech support had a clue. What a huge wast of time (like reading this reply)! I also dug around the BlackBerry web site for awhile with no luck.

Anyway I'll get to the point; My brain kicked in early this morning, that's when it works best. Find a BlackBerry discussion forum for the answer! So here I am, in about 10 minutes after a search I now have BeamBerry working and reading PDF files. My only complaint with BeamBerry... Some of the text is a little off, some letters and or numbers are bigger or smaller then the others. The bottom line is I can now read PDF files thanks to BeamBerry and the BlackBerry Forums

Thanks, Dan (now sailing fast again)

Free for now is good. If or when the bill comes I'll move on to something else. I'll have to see how the iPhone handles this attachment thing...
