Just go to the desktop manager and turn up e-mail forwarding.

I may not always be near my PC to use Desktop Manager whenever I want to stop receiving messages so.......

I'm on a BES and don't know if this would differ otherwise but on the 7100g itself, I go to Messages...Options...Email Settings and change the 'Send Email to Handheld' setting to NO.

Default Thanks

Thanks Philmax - my situation is the same - I am on BES and just want to toggle messages on/off at will. So in this case, I can say NO to 'send messages to handheld" and when I toggle it back on, it will send the ones that have been received on the server since?

I don't understand why would you want to do that. You can set BB so it will not inform you if a message came in but will ring if a phone call did, and you can switch back and forth with those profiles. The main reason people get BB is for the push e-mail function.

Unfortunately, it doesn't play catch up; it won't synch the handheld to your inbox. Emails are only forwarded to the handheld as they come into the mail system.

Understood - my reasoning is that if, my wife ;), was saying if I am out and on a weekend away from work, is there a way for me to, like you said, not have emailk come in but still use it as my phone. It looks like I can turn off notification, but it will always download email if I get one.

That being said - it raises another question-

How can you tell the difference in a meeting when it vibrates whether you are getting a call or an email? That is important for me as I look to see who calls but could care less about the email sometimes until after a meeting. Are there seperate vibrate settings - like two vibrates for a call, one for email?

Thanks Dawg - so it vibrates three times in a row when it is a call?
