LOL, did a google on addiction to blackberry, and look at this little article...

N.J. Burkett reports on people obsessed with their Blackberry.

Alison Brod runs her own public relations firm. She says her Blackberry is critical for doing her job.

Alison Brod: "If at all possible, I don't want to be with out it."

In fact, Alison admits: "I sleep with it, I sleep with my Blackberry."

Alison needs to be connected, and she's not alone. Jodi Sims-Hassan says she's addicted.

Jodi Simms Hassan, Alison Brod Public Relations: "I feel like if I turn it off, all of a sudden people would say, where is she? I don't understand, and that would cause panic within them, and that would cause panic within me."

Mount Sinai psychiatrist Eric Hollander has written books about obsessive-compulsive behavior. He says there is a clear line between wanting to be in touch and becoming consumed by it.

Dr. Eric Hollander, Mount Sinai Hospital: "If it starts to become time consuming, if it causes a lot of distress, or it starts to interfere with functioning in terms of relationships or work, it's gone over the top."

So, what can you do if you're addicted? Assuming you want to change, Dr. Hollander says you should follow a few simple steps:

First, set limits. At some point, turn it off no matter what.
Second, stay focused: Don't check email when you're doing something else.
And finally, you may just need help. There's always therapy and, in extreme cases, medication.
Or you can simply walk away from it. That's what lawyer Shai Ingber is doing.
After three years of getting email day and night - even working-out with his Blackberry - Shai is burned out and taking a leave of absence to reclaim his life and his girlfriend.

Shai Ingber, Lawyer: "My girlfriend makes me take time outs from my Blackberry when we're out at dinner, because she knows I can't focus on her or anything else if I have it with me."

And even the experts know their limits. Dr. Hollander takes Blackberry breaks, too.

Does being obsessed about getting one count. I stay in eBay morning noon and night and have subscribed to every blackberry forum I can find. It's all I talk about these days and my wife told me she will be glad when I get it.

What's going to happen to me when I get the unit???

I am also guilty.

Spend a weekend out at the sand dunes with my brothers, was out of contact for the whole weekend.

I use my Blackberry so much, my fingers are starting to turn black and athe people who work for the local nextel store call me to help their customers when they buy one.

I feel ya brother. For the past week I have been going to every sidekick/BB forum there is, subscribing, talking, not to mention all the Ebay'ing. But there is hope! I got my Blackberry off ebay today (7230) for $110!

I think all of can think of a dinner with the wife, where you glance at your Blackberry out of habit, and get the a**-chewing of a lifetime. Dont know now how I lived without one before.
