Default lost html browser!

Please Login to Remove!

i was on the phone with nextel today trying to get some issues resolved. (no email, no internet, telenav inop)

the girl i was talking to had me do all kinds of stuff to my phone, including delete all my service books.

come to find out there is an outage that was causing my problems all along, and now my html browser is gone.

i already had the service books resent, but the browser is still nowhere to be seen.

any thoughts or suggestions?

thanks,
Caanan

I would call them back and have them push it OTA to you. You gotta love it when I company does not inform others on the support team that there are problems.

The same thing just happened to me. I couldn't use email or web services and they had me do all kinds of stuff including delete service books. Now no web browser. And the woman I talked to told me that there wasn't anything wrong with my phone or the new software, it was because I hadn't deleted all my emails from the web client site. They said that since I didn't have 50% available space, my service wasn't working. Sounds pretty fishy.

That sounds weird. Do you have the new software uploaded to your handheld?

Well here's the thing... I never called and I got it.

Try going through the steps again (without the downloading :obviously: ). What's the worse that could happen? You were gonna call anyway.

I am giving up on the darn thing tonight. I had to put it on the charger anyway. Maybe tomorrow I will turn it on and it will all be fixed... Stranger things have happened.

I don;t mean to double post this but allow me to share my experiances. I have lost my browser icon after conducting SpacemanSpiff's suggestion (opt #4).

Any attempts to use the HTML browser would give me the following message,
"Internet Service Unavailable. If this problem persists, please contact your service provider."

I called customer support (Tier 2 Blackberry support) at Nextel twice and both reps did not have any answers for me........one of them was absolutely clueless as to what an HTML browser is while the other suggested Telenav was neccessary to get HTML browser access.

Hence, I seek advice from the forum pros. Below is my email to Nextel CSR as well:

1 - Refreshed my Host Routing Table. Nothing.

2 - Refreshed HRT, then taking the battery out for over 3 minutes and doing a master radio reset as per the first CSR. nothing.

3 - BB service rep suggested to change my IP. Nothing.

4 - I deleted all my service books and conducted a master reset and then going back and 'undeleting' the service book entries as some forum members suggested to no avail. By doing this, I lost my browser icon. I am looking at my service book entries currrently and realized that there are at least two less service books than what I had before when I had a successful HTML browser (after the 319 upgrade).

5 - Lastly, I had resent my service books to my 7520 via my Blackberry Web Client account and still no luck.

any help? I've already spent nearly an hour with Tier 2 BB support.

Thumbs up

Many be this has been posted before, but for all who are having trouble getting the new BB Browser, you GOT to download the latest software. I thought my 7520 with 4.0 HAD the latest software, but there was new new 4.0.xxx that had to be downloaded. After an 1/2 hours of downloading the new OS for my 7520 all worked perfectly and got the new browser.

I must say the new browser is faster amd more "integrated" with the BB device/system than ReqWireless which I have now deleted.

I've already upgraded to the 4.0.0.319 OS. seems like no one has an answer to this issue. guess I gotta call Nextel again........bummer.

Default HTML Browser

As I stated in an early post, My co-worker had the same problem and Nextel Data Support helped her get things back up this morning.
