Default who uses a BB and a cellphone?

Please Login to Remove!

Just curious if any of you guys use both a BB AND a cellphone day to day? I am sure some of you do- just trying to get a handle if it is worth it for me to subscribe to 2 plans on different carriers. Ideally Id like to carry one device (BB) for both data and voice.

I've been carrying only one device for over 2 years now and wouldn't want it any other way. I love not having two devices on my hip.

I have a Nokia 6620 (Cingular ATTWS) for voice and a BB7520 on NXTL's unlimited BB plan. The $200 discount on the 7520 was too tempting, and I figure if I had a separate PDA I'd be carrying two devices anyway. I couldn't get a 7290 from Cingular without having to jump through sim card hoops (etc.)

I am on the fence about dropping Cingular and going 100% NXTL. I am not a big fan of SBC but I am very pleased about their GSM quality.

I have a Motorola v551 and a BB 7290. I do not want to Migrate to the Cingular side so I am keeping both for now.

Default Two phones...

Right now I carry two phones, I carry my Blackberry 7520 and an i860. Since I am a Nextel Rep. it would only seem right however to carry both phones on the Nextel Network. When I first purchased a Blackberry it was so that I could demo it for large businesses. Little did I know that I myself would use it much more than I do my i860 or at the time i730. If I didn't sell as many phones to individuals, I most defnitely drop the i860 and carry just my BB.

I'm using the BB 7290 as my main cellular phone. I also have a Nokia 6310i that sits constantly in the Car (In it's Car kit) but with a service that makes them, de facto, the same line (For Voice)...

Currently carrying a nextel 7520 and a ATT/Cingular nokia 6200
the BB is work only and cell is personal and business.

my only problem is I love my BB so much I want one for my business/ personal stuff.
my job would really frown upon me using my BB for my other business dealings. hmm I wonder if anyone makes a two place holster??

I went with the 7100r specifically to eliminate having two different devices, and I love it. Also, I'm on a killer plan that I got as a Rogers reseller (it would cost over twice as much to get it now) and I just tacked on data to the package, and still come in way below their equivalent voice & data plan (the combined plans are supposed to be cheaper than tacking on data to an existing plan)

I have a separate cell phone for voice. My main reasons are that a) i'm still on contract and i have an awesome voice plan... as well as the cheaper voicemail and call display bundle than bell's newest one so i don't feel like losing that. b) i wanted data but i could get it at a discount on a seperate employee rate plan rather than paying full price on my regular voice plan as an extra feature. c) i'd just bought the new sanyo 7300 cell phone and to replace it so quickly with my new free blackberry i got through my sales points just felt like a waste (since i got the sanyo on a 30 day upgrade term for full price, less my employee discount at the store)... plus i occasionally need the analogue service the sanyo provides. and finally d) ppl are just used to my number anyway. mind you my blackberry number kicks even my cell number's butt, but what can you do eh? lol

and so those are my reasons for keeping two devices. it'd be nice to have just one and if bell comes out with a decent employee rate plan comparable to my current cell plan i might consider just going blackberry on my cool number. but for now two separate devices are serving me well.

I carry only the 7230 from-TMobile. I've been thinking of a second phone, but I've already got too many devices to keep up with. The idea of the BB for me was to condense and consolidate.

Well you beat me to it! I just think back to the days of the "Bat Belt" Palm Vx, Moto pager, StarTac cell... You couldn't pay me to go back, I've been carrying a single BB for a yrs, joy!

Hahaha the bat belt. i like that.

Well in some ways i wish i could get rid of the bat belt type of situation but financial reality has to set in for me and i'm getting more value out of my two separate plans than one combined. plus i'm the only sales rep in my store who can show off a cell phone or a blackberry to a customer, so it's practical for my job.

I currently use 2 Devices. One Sony Ericsson k700i from O2, because O2 Germany sadly doesn´t support Blackberry-Prosumer, but has the cheaper Voice-prices.
And a Vodafone-7230-Prosumer for mails and PIM

I have two devices too. One is T-Mobile BB 7230 and the other is Verizon Audiovox phone. I do this because Verizon is the only good carrier in NYC for voice and too expensive for data. Besides I seem to chance phone much more often then BB. Once you get a BB you like and trust, its like a old friends you can not give up.

I'm also using 2 devices: BB 7520, and cellOne Nokia POS. I keep them both in a travel day planner so carrying is not a problem, and I like being able to talk on the phone, easily and separately, while using my BB.

2 devices here ... samsung d500 for voice and a bb 7100 for emails.

not fond of the BB close to my ear as the SAR for the above version is 0.9 whereas SAR for Samsung is 0.3 ... which would you prefer?
