Check out the website front to back. www.cingular.com If one told you yes, and another told you know, maybe you should check the site and call them back if you are still unsure.

i've checked the site but couldn't find any info.
The thing is that when i call cs from my area it routes my call to Puerto Rico's cs, and most of them don't even know what a blackberry is!.
so im either looking for a direct cs number in us mainland or for someone that has this info.

That is rediculous!!! I cant believe that. If worse comes to worst, you might have to pay like $5 or $10 for your unlimited SMS, but it may be free. I will try to locate a number. I wonder why it send you to Puerto Rico.

Hi,
I'm on the old ATTWS and we have free incoming SMS but not outgoing. Cingular is much more expensive and charges for both in and out SMS. It is not part of the unlimited data plan at least in the NYC area. I see them coming from my monthly allowance.

This is a great question for Verizon users, does anyone know the answer? Right now, I have the unlimited data plan as well as SMS messaging, but have wondered if I need to have both. It would seem that the unlimited data plan would cover SMS messages if it covers emails, but I have not been able to verify.

No, you don't get unlimited SMS, you have to pay a whole 'nother fee for that.
What you CAN do is just use that teleflip or just get a IM program like Verichat.

I get a copy of the bill that goes to my corporate, and even with the unlimited data plan, Cingular SMS messages are charged individually. There is a separate monthly plan for unlimtied SMS messaging available from Cingular. I don't use it enough to justify it, however.

SMS not included, and never unlimited!
I have been pouring over cell phone company reviews and rate plans for days trying to figure out who to switch over too. I think I'm going blind!
No Cingular does not include SMS with their data plan. It is a whole other service, which is not even offered in an "unlimited" version. I believe it is about $20 a month for 2000 messages, or something close to that. I'd have to look again, but like I said I'm goin blind!
By the way I have a brand new Nextel 7520 (never even out of the box) for sale. Like I said I bought it, and then realized that I really need some other service, but that's for another post.
