I have a BB Pearl 8100 from T-Mobile. It has the original OS that it comes with which is v4.2.0.64. I'm having a tough time installing themes. I've paid for one and the other is free. None of them show up under THEME. Only the original four that it comes with. The weird part is that If I go to OPTIONS/ APPLICATIONS/.. Both of them are under there. Anyone has any idea how to solve this issue? Im just trying to install a theme. I've tried the 30 second battery pull and what not. Thanks in advance!

Could be that the themes are not for the 8100. Or they are for a later OS.

So should I install an updated OS or do a "Master Reset" ?!? And If I need to install a new OS.. where and which one?

That depends on what themes you downloaded. Were they for the 8100 specifically?

The latest Pearl OS update info is in a sticky thread at the top of this 8100 forum.

Yes. It was the Vista theme and Transformers theme for the Pearl. But I haven't been able to install regular themes either. So is wiping out the handheld a good idea? Backing up my files first though.

You need to DL and install the ThemeReader available on the site. I ran into the same issue, now they work perfectly.

Did you try taking out the battery and doing a hard reset after you installed the themes? I had trouble getting themes to show up under the themes menu until I did this.

That is not it at all. The BB needs software off the site to recognize the themes. Go look at the FAQ on the site, it will give you a like to install using DTM and an OTA install.
