Default Newbie 7520 Question?

Please Login to Remove!

First to all the vetrans, I did a search and checked my manual. I am new to the BlackBerry 7520. I purchased one NIB on HoFo about 2 weeks ago. I currently dont have a BlackBerry plan. I inserted my sims from my i860 and the cell and DC work fine. My question which is probably stupid is this. On my home screen in the upper left corner, I have a small pic of an envelope with a 3 next to it. I assume that this could be an e-mail or text message. I don't know how to access this? I have already reteived my voice mail and know how to do this. I am just confused at what that envelope represent and how can I access it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks jeff

It is just a like a missed call or text message or DC call. Hit the wheel and it opens, then from there just you can see what you missed, they will be BOLDED. You can open those too to see actual time of call and etc.

Better add a plan to it quick or nextel will get you for any data that you use at .25 a min and the way these thing communicate that wont take long to add up.

I have no internet browser or e-mail service at this time. Someone said Nextel is having a special $24.99 for 3mb e-mail storage and unlimited surfing. I will proabbly go with that. I can always upgrade it I need more. As for the envelope, My menu states no missed text or e-mail messages? Oh well I wont worry about. Thanks anyway.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7520/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.12)

Roll to messages folder on home screen open and you should have access to the missed messages.

Ok, I have a question. I have a 7520/Nextel. There is an icon on the home screen, that houses all the Tips for working the unit. Kind of like a manual. One day mine just disappeared. Poof. First it was sayin "null" something or another. How do I get it back. Nextel customercare is useless. You guys are all gems, HELP!!!

hey there. that envelope means that you have some sort of message in your message icon. if your berry is set up properly, press m and that will bring you to your message icon. if you press m and nothing happens, press space bar then push trackwheel in and go to options, dial from home screen change to off, save. this will allow you to use your shortcuts like m for message a for address book and so on. hope that works, if not berry me at 201E65CC

Perhaps it is hidden? Try clicking your scroll wheel while holding the alt key and select 'show all'.

I have two help icons. One labeled help with an arrow pointing at 2pm; the ohter, a book with a question mark on it.

if that does not work, try re-sending your HRT (Host Routing Tables) under options. Another option, try re-sending your service books to your handheld again via your webclient account. Lastly, try upgrading your OS to OS 4.0.0.319.
