Default New 8700C Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Well day one on the new job and the company gives me a new blackberry. I have used a treo for the last few years.

First question is how do i add a custom ringtone to the phone. I have it in a mp3 format. Is there any certain applications i would need

Be careful before you start messing with and adding things. Most companies have strict usage policies for BBs, mainly due to security concerns. If you are on BES, it might even be locked down by your company IT policies. If I were you, I'd check with your IT department and BES Admin, if there is one, to see what you can and cannot do.

I know it didn't. You can also do a search to find the answer.

I am just offering some friendly advice which you should consider if you are new to BBs, new to BES and new to your company..

Here is a place to start: http://www.blackberryforums.com/medi...ringtones.html

i suggest you upgrading to the lastest OS, you will find a new media module, then you can send mp3 file through media manager or bluetooth easily.
if you stay at the old version, there is a tricky way to add ringtone, fine a free file host and upload mp3 file, then point browser to download url, the device will ask you if you want to save it as ringtone when you download it.
