i noticed a few specs about 3 weeks ago just in the lower left corner..i caught a good look at the screen in the sunlight today and it made my stomach hurt..more than half the screen has dust specs on it,,,,what is there to do

Likely the entire run will suffer dust under the screen. The 8700 units did and it took months and a new batch to fix.

My 8800 has never had the problem and I think I may be making a mistake making this switch.

I have All models & dust is just a fact of life. Sooner or later you will have some dust.
