Have you tried logging in to your AT&T BIS account and resending the service books to your device?

It would be helpful if you updated your profile with your location, so that we know where "here" is.

I have an 8703e on Sprint using BIS and I've been getting intermittent email (every 6 hours or so) for the last two days. Resent service books, but no dice.

I've also seen an issue with SMS messages not arriving. Spoke to a Sprint rep and they indicated that there was some sort of nationwide issue with SMS, but had no update other than that.

Actually I had to cancel my wireless service today

I hope to have it back in about 6 months. How I will miss getting e-mails immediately. But I am still using the BlackBerry for addresses, tasks, scheduling and memos. I have been reading around in other threads where people are having issues, too. So it may be widespread.

Just spoke with Sprint Blackberry support and they opened a RIM trouble ticket for the issue. Looking at our logs, it appears that the BIS server is only checking for new email every 4-6 hours or so for everyone in our office who has a Blackberry, no matter what provider they're using.

Why everyone in your office? If you are on a BIS server?

They are on 3 different providers and we don't use Exchange...therefore BIS.

I'm looking at our mail server's logs, specifically /var/log/maillog, and looking for anytime a server dns name ending with bis.na.blackberry.com hits up our server looking for mail. And in the last 90 minutes, of the 3 blackberry users we have, only one BIS server checked mail.

roto, thanks. I missed reading that you had your mail servers onsite, that would make sense that you can see that.

And so you know, another user and I were just "troubleshooting" to see of this issue were pinned down to only BIS or BES or both. That is why I specifically was curious how you saw logs without having BES.

Yeah. It's a good troubleshooting tool to have access to the maillog, but frustrating that I have *zero* visibility into what's happening on the BIS server. This problem seems pretty widespread, at least here in California. One user's BIS server checked mail twice during one 10 minute period over the last 90 minutes. The other two people's BIS servers never checked at all during the same time.

it's not that widespread, or there would be more than about 15-20 inquiries on the issue. Believe me.

I am not having any problem. I did notice some slowness on Cingy yesterday, but I just attribute that to whatever. It never stalled for hours. And TMo has been slick to go the whole week.

Just confirming JS's observation. Though most of my email is BES, my BIS is coming through fine.

Perhaps it's just in SoCal, but we have three people with three different providers having issues.

No, there have been spotty reports from FL, IL, and elsewhere, and various carriers. It is not just SoCal, and it is not happening all across SoCal.
