I followed this forum's T-Mobile with 8300 directions, unlocked my 8300, loaded O2 software, and did in fact manage to get everything working on T-Mobile, browser included.

New problem - I created more folders for my icon screen. I moved some application icons to these folders. Worked well until reboot. All the folders (and the icons) are gone, yet the applications are still on unit according to options, advanced options, applications, modules.

I did it again (actually twice); added folder, reboot, that folder disappears too.

I checked and show all is on so that is not it.

Ideas on recovery or what is happening? Anyone else see this?

I believe this is a bug with O2 OS... Try upgrading if you want, but you wont have the browser on any other OS tho.

To get em back go to options then themes and click menu then hit reset to default. that will bring back all ur icons but u lose what ever changes u made to theme

Not sure I did the right thing but it worked. I just picked a different theme, and the missing icons are back. Thanks for the timely help.

You'll find that if you go back to the original theme, the blackberry will "remember" your customizations, including reordered icons, and user defined folders. Unfortunately, it will also "remember" that your folders have become invisible and inaccessible.

If you want to use the original theme again, you can reset it back to its original, uncustomized state, by:

1) going to Options
2) Theme
3) highlight the "broken" theme
4) hit the menu button (left of the trackball)
5) select "reset theme defaults"

The original theme will be available again. Your folder definitions will be undone, and the icons that had disappeared into them will be visible again.
