Angry Sync Error

Please Login to Remove!

The file or database name associated with MS Outlook is missing, invalid, or points to file of zero length.

I have Microsoft Office Professional 2007. I called MS and spoke with tech support, they where as you guessed NO help. We donxxx8217;t trouble shoot 3rd party software.

The tech support rep told me to use Microsoft Active Sync; well I have yet been able to have the computer see my BB using that.

Can anyone shed some light?

I'll even pay for the phone call on Tuesday if someone can help me over the phone.

Gary

Gary, I would first ask and suggest that you make sure you have Desktop Manager Version 4.2, Service Pack 1 or 2. (I would suggest Service Pack 1 because you don't need all the media stuff included in SP2.)

Second, has this sync ever worked with that BlackBerry and MS Office (this 2007 version or an older version)?

Yes, it did work with service pack 1 and 2 on Windows Vista, But I was having other issuess with Vista so I formated my HD and installed XP Media Center.

Two seperate times I formated my HD and reinstalled to see if I could get it to work. No dice.

So I have been working on re-installing all my software because I'm a photographer by trade.

I did a google search on this error and there seems to be a fix, but its not that easy as it seems. I was hoping with all the members here someone else has had this problem and could help me out.

In the sync Configure, in the advanced setup, you can tell it where to find the Outlook Personal Folder, and choose it. I am betting when you reinstalled Outlook with the downgrade to XP Media Center, it placed Outlook in a differently named folder and you will have to tell DM where Outlook sits on your hard drive.
