if i have the $20 blackberry internet plan on TMO and the unlimited texting plan, am i paying for something i do not need? in other words, could i get rid of the texting plan if i have a bb?

no if you use sms then you need the sms bundle... not sure if the sms is included or not

SMS texting is NOT included in the Unlimited Data Plan. You are smart to have both plans if you text a lot. You might move from texting to IM chat with a program like JiveTalk that does use data rather than SMS text.

That isn't entirely accurate....it depends on the plan. I have the Blackberry minutes and mail plan which includes the $20 unlimited data and unlimited texting. If you have that plan and also have the unlimited sms addon, you are double paying for service. If you have a regular phone plan and added the unlimited data, you will also need to purchase the unlimited sms....hope that helped.

Your minutes and mail plan is a good one, but it is certainly not $20, so he would not have been thinking about it.

SMS/MMS texts aren't covered by the BB data plan. However PIN messages are, and thus free.

If you have Minutes & Mail Plan, unlimited text msg. plan cannot go on it as an additional feature because it is already included in it. I work for Tmobile so that's why I know. The system won't allow us to add that on to the plan.

29.99 for BB? there is no such feature. You might be talking about total internet, but that's not BB. And there is NO bb feature that provides unlimited sms for tmo. There just isn't. If you have something, it may be grandfathered, and no longer available, else it was a special promotion.

If you have a typical VOICE plan (Get More or MyFaves),
the $19.99 BlackBerry data addon you have is ON TOP of your VOICE plan.
This $19.99 add-on ONLY provides unlimited EMAIL as well as INTERNET/DATA.

It does NOT include any SMS or MMS.
Meaning, without one of the text messaging bundles offered, you will be paying out of pocket for each of your text messages and picture messages.
So, if you text a lot... I highly suggest you snag the appropriate package for your level of use.

The plan that wingrider78 is on is an all around package for the single user who wants to jump right on a BlackBerry.
It is a standalone rate plan that is inclusive of air time, data/email, as well as text messaging. (There are different levels of this package as well, to target different peoples use. The basic BB Minutes/Data plan only has 300 SMS included.)
