Please Login to Remove!

Hey Guys, I am new the board and I am currently in the hunt for the best quality BlackBerry phone out. So, from your past experiences which model of the BlackBerry phones would you personally recommend others in getting and why?

Welcome to the Forums. First off, every BB has it's own pro's and con's. The question you should ask yourself is what features you need most and from there, do a comparison of each in order to make your decision.

If you search the forums, there are a few threads comparing one BB to another ie: 83XX vs 88XX vs 81XX. Good luck.

8700g!! Because it is the first and only BlackBerry I have ever had, so I have to recommend it!

Actually, it is because it works perfectly for me. It is a workhorse with a great keyboard. I do wish it had external storage like the newer Pearl, Curve and 8800. I don't need the media things like the camera or advanced music player, though.

Really depends alot on what you're looking for, as the poster above said. What works for ME may not be what YOU are looking for.

I really held off even looking at blackberrys in the past, because I felt that they were too large, and didn't want to be holding a waffle up to my ear when I was making a call. In hindsight, I'm not sure that it was that big of a deal.

However, I ended up getting the Pearl, tempted by it's slim size. It is REALLY a small, sleek phone, and comes with MicroSD card slot, camera, and mp3 player, which I LOVE! The MP3 player is NOT as sleek and feature rich as my Clix, but hey, I don't have to carry around a 2nd device, and the music sounds excellent! Doesn't have all of the features, but it works very well (and there's a new MP3 player out, free, which adds a LOT of the missing features)

However, the 8100 (Pearl) lacks a larger screen, and full qwerty keyboard. I don't have a problem with SureType, I actually like it, but if you're used to using a full keyboard, check out the 8700 or, if you want MP3 ahd camera, check out the Curve.

Have fun... any bb will probably blow you away with it's feature set and stability!

For me, the Pearl and the Curve, depending on whether or not you want full QWERTY. I use it as a phone too so i like that these ones are smaller/thinner.

Depending on what you are going to use it for. But for me, the 8800 was my first BlackBerry. Eventhough it doesn't have A2DP Profile, no Camera, and the Music Player isn't all that great, I still love it because I didn't get it for those. I got it because it has a built-in GPS. At first I bought it to test it out, then realize the push email works so great, I couldn't give it back to trade for another device. So I sold my Pocket PC Phone and kept the 8800. Have not been disappointed yet.

Ask yourself, Do you need:
Camera?
GPS?
Full Size Keyboard?
A2DP Profile? (To listen to music with bluetooth headphones)
Music Player?
