Would a US 8310 from AT&T's GPS work overseas?

I don't see why not -- I used GPS-enabled Google Maps on my AT&T 8800 in Tunisia a few weeks ago. It depends more on if AT&T cripples the GPS to only work with Telenav, and that's location independent.

It would be worth the upgrade if it could work worldwide.

AT&T will almost certinly only ship it with Telenav ($10/mo, US only) in the box.

Both Google maps and Blackberry Maps are free add ons that offer international coverage and support GPS.

Areas where blackberry maps works:

I dont know of a similar list for Google Maps. However I know that it works in England, Canada, Spain, Morocco and India.
