Default 3rd Party Apps not installing to 8320

Please Login to Remove!

I have a bunch of apps I bought for an unlocked 8300. Everytime I try to use the Apploader on the 8320 software to install these programs to my 8320 I get "No additional applications for your device were found". Any ideas? I spent a lot of money on these apps. I really need them on the phone.

Thanx for any ideas!

Please install the OS for the 8320 to your PC. Then try it again.

I have the os that came with the 8320 installed. Just bought it today. Still, no joy on app installation. I'm totally befuddled.

What are the apps you are trying to install? Are you using .alx/.cod files?

As I posted in a different thread I had the same issue, when I used the switch device wizard all the info from my 8300 was transferred to my 8320 except the 3rd party apps. I was like WTF? coz everytime I swapped devices with the switch device wizard the apps got transferred also. I had to reload my 3rd party apps OTA and from my computers hard drive to the BlackBerry via application loader on the desktop manager. I know others who used the switch device wizard and encountered the same thing when they got the 8320 also.

That's my situation.
The switch bberry program brought over everrything but purchased apps.
I keep getting goofy errors when i try and install everything via usb connected apploader. programs such as repligo, worldmate, skype, etc. nothing.

I don't use any of the ones you listed so I don't know for sure, however, you will likely need new registration keys for them anyway since you have switched devices. Many of the registration keys are generated via the PIN so they won't work when transferred anyway. Why not just download/install them fresh to the device?

It's not that you need that OS installed on your phone, you need to have the actual OS installed on your PC as well.

That is what I had to do. New device with new pin needs to be re-registered.

i have the latest desktop manager and device manager installed. is that what we're talking about?
Everything I try to install it tells me "no add'l applications for your device were found".

It doesn't let me get passed that. All of these apps installed fine on my 8300 and are compatible w/the 8320. It's the fact that it gives me that error immediately when i select an .alx file that I find odd.

This is what you need to do. Go to T-Mobile downloads and download the "handheld software v 4.2.2.171". Install it on your computer without your Curve connected and it'll prompt you to update your software. Just follow the prompts and you'll be all set to go. I went through the same thing you did and this is what you need to fix it.

Same solution.
You must download the Handheld OS for the 8820 and install it onto your PC.

Then you will be able to load the 3rd party applications.
