Default Curve won't pair w/Bluetooth devices

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I've precisely followed pairing instructions for Jabra handsfree bluetooth device. I thought the Jabra was just broken. I just bought a motorola S9 and my 8300 still won't connect.

In pairing mode it finds the S9. I enter the motorola 4 digit key and then the 8300 hangs up with the message "waiting for the Motorola S9." Very similar to the Jabra problem I was having. The S9 is fully charged and in pairing mode as well.

Any suggestions?

Default Pairing Problems

I am having the same symptoms pairing my 8320 with my Acura Handsfree Unit. I havbe had 3 other older BBs that worked just fine but the 8320 doesn't. It asks for the passcode and never connects.

I just loaded the new OS .180 and was hopeful as the very first time I tried to pair the code was accepted but the BB was never able to connect. Unfortunately I deleted the entry and tried to pair agaion and I'm back to the original behavior. This sucks.

My 8300 paired with my Acura TL's hands-free just fine right from the start (it was on the original AT&T software until last week, when I updated to the new OS). Sorry to hear you're having problems.

Mine will not work either with my Plantronics discovery 655. It took 30 mins for it to connect and it disconnects every few secs. It's so unreliable. Adding it was a pain. I tried pairing for over an hr until it would take the default password. I used the same headset on my Pearl 8100. The Tmo curve is a POS when it comes to the bluetooth headset. I even turned off wifi and it made no difference. I just upgraded to the new Tmo os thinking it might fix it. Nope it doesn't. It made the pairing faster and easy. Still drops and when it was connected as soon as I made a call, BT disconnected over and over. Wifi was turned off again after the os upgrade as well.

well i have paired with a dozen device, gps, and other phones and never had a problem. it might just be your phone. update to the latest 8300 OS, right now .314 i believe, im trying .301 as we speak, so im gonna so what that does. after u update it, restart, if it still doesn't pair call ur carrier, tell them its broken, make them send u a new one. i know when my keyboard backlite went out, i got a new bb in the mail 3 days later, and mailed back my old one 2 days after that.

I too am having the same problem with my 8320 connecting to my Jeep UConnect. It does the same thing...finds the device...when I put the code in it trys to connect and never does.

Now...my wife has an AT&T 8300 unlocked to work on T-Mobile. That connects no problem with my Jeep UConnect and works perfect.

This has to be a problem with the 8320 and the software. I've updated to .180 and still no fix.
