Default 7100t and bbtoday weather problems

Please Login to Remove!

I read the entire thread on how to fix the problem but to no avail. I have 7100t on 4.0 w/T-Mo. I get almost every error possible. I can select the weather portion and go to the weather site and select my city and get the forecast and current temp.

I get unable to open connection---malformed address- bad DNS and more

I have set my apn to wap.voicestream.com with NO userid/pw

what am I missing?
TIA

I get the same error. It seems that the first attempt to get weather I get the error. I try again and it works. I get the same error with other programs like Rambler. I get the error first time I try to connect. I try again and it works.

It could be just the way the program is developed though I know I recently was working with some http connections and the code included with the JDK didn't seem to work as well as just opening a connection sending/receving.

Chances are pretty good its just a weak signal and not your BB.

Well I can browse the web and connect to IM clinets like ICQ and AIM. When I try BBweather alone it gives me an error when connecting unless I check the disabel MDS and then it just cant connect thru tunnel. Any ideas?

I cannot get BBweather to work either. Browsing is fine. I set everything and then the following error is returned...

Error: Could not find a service book entry for IPPP

Then if I go into the options as others have suggested and turn off the MDS proxy, I get the following error...

Error: Could not open tunnel - failed

Is there ANY way to get this to work?? Hell, I'd even accept someone saying it doesn't work at all as long as I knew I was trying to do the impossible. Are there any other weather apps that work better than BBweather? Thanks!

For T-Mobile:

APN: wap.voicestream.com
Userid: the userid you are using for the BWC
Password: the password you are using for that userid

Make sure Disable MDS proxy is checked (disabled).

If that does not work, check with T-Mobile customer care to make sure that your SIM is provisioned properly.

I hope this helps

If you need a location id for BBTODAY go here and type in your city

http://www.aspnetresources.com/tools/locid.aspx

it will give you your location ID
