Default 9930 shortened battery life with Bridge 2.0

Please Login to Remove!

I'm running 9930 7.1.0.457/7.1.0.163 and last week I upgrade the BB bridge to version 2.0. If I leave my Playbook (2.0) in standby with bluetooth enabled on my 9930 I'm lucky to get 6-7 hours on my phone.

Is anyone else seeing this? I wouldn't think that I would have to shut down my PlayBook or turn off bridge/bluetooth to get decent battery life.

For the past week or so I was baffled how quickly my 9900 battery drains. I out of battery by early afternoon, and that's with a relatively light use.

I was constantly checking for apps running in the background, but there was nothing besides the basic apps...

After reading your post I realized that there is one other app that was running but it does not show up - BB Bridge. And the drop in battery life is definitely associated with V2.0 update.

I would definitely be a hassle to turn the Bridge On and Off to get a better battery life, but I don't see another choice, at least until RIM releases a more battery friendly version of the bridge....

You may reinstall the OS by LOADER.exe
before you go, you must delete some unnecessary file in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9000-v4.6.0.282_P4.0.0.235\Java
