Default Verizon data plan block.

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone that has a blackberry that is on verizon wireless, have a blocked data plan? can anyone tell me if there is anyway you can do this. I just bought a used blackberry and i dont have the money for the data plan i wanted it for a good txting keyboard. I had a phone that used a data plan before but i got it blocked, but now they wont block it. I have threatened to switch carriers nothing. is there any way please HELP!

Verizon requires a BB data plan on all BBs. About all you can do is call and talk to them. Be polite and keep trying. But even if you remove it, they will most likely add it back, as that is their policy. Same with AT&T.

That's the word. And also that most carriers are doing the same thing to new subscribers, so switching may not get you anywhere.

It doesn't matter if you have been with them for a million years. A data plan is a requirement for all BlackBerry devices activated on Verizon. There is no getting around it. Threatening to switch carriers is an idle threat to them.

Everyone is exactly right. Verizon won't budge on this. I've found that on the Carrier( Non VZW) phones that do allow connection with no data that the phone seems to be pretty well useless anyway with wi-fi and other features disabled.

Even with my 8703e that i might be getting if it dosnt need a data plan? I dont know why i would need one for a black berry this old.

ALL BlackBerry devices activated on the Verizon network are REQUIRED to have Data. Period.

It doesn't matter how old it is. If you don't want data, get a different device.
