Default update BB device 9700

Please Login to Remove!

I would like to update a BB device Bold 9700 thru the Express Server. I have a manual and enabled the administration service to handle updates. Downloaden Device software version 6.
The problem is that he does not find updates in the Infrastructure. I believe he searches by KPN?
How can i arrange that the Express server searches on the server for updates? I have made a share where i put the downloaden versie 6 in but the administration service says he cannot find any updates...

I also have tried to install the downloaden version 6 on the client where the BB device connecting but when i choose to update thru the desktop software that software also says there are no updates available...

I just would like to update the BB BOld 9700 or 9780 from version 5 to 6 with or without the BES EXpress server..

The 9780 already has OS6. Regarding the 9700, i dont recommend upgrading. The device only has the half of the memory of the 9780. Even an installation of the newer OS without any third party applications will leave you with only about 32mb ram availible. In addition the OS6 browser is a big step back from the OS5 version. Also the view of the inbox shows less rows, the calendar also. And you have the dreaded tabs in the main screen which are completely useless.

I never tried OTA software upgrades. Rumor is, that european carriers do not support this.

If you want to install a newer OS, look into the 97xx section, download the current OS, and install it with the Desktop Manager.

download ths OS versions you think you need, install,

then, delete the "vendor.xml" in the directory where the "loader.exe" is
/program files/shared ?????/research in motion/apploader/

then again try to open the DM, or, just start the loader.

See the sticky at the top of the 9700 section for the latest OS and instructions. Follow them exactly.

If your device is a company one and connected toBES, you should chat with the BES Admin or IT Staff first.

And I concur with the about about not upgrading the 9700 to OS 6. The device was not designed to run OS 6 since it shipped with OS 5.. It is underpowered and lacks the memory required to run OS 6 efficiently. It most likely will be sluggish at best.
