7100g stuck in "ABC" mode

Hello.

My 7100g is stuck in the mode where it always has ABC in the upper corner.

Auto type no longer works in this mode. If I want to type the letter Y for example, I must hit the 2 key twice....

7100g... 'ut' instead of 'it'

Overall I'm pleased with the autocorrect when typing with my 7100g.

For example, my real name is Eric, so when I type [ER] [ER] [UI] [CV] it's smart enough to know I mean 'Eric' not 'Rriv', 'Eeuv'...
